How much does small group tuition cost in Jurong West?

At Lea's Academy, fees are a flat monthly amount per subject: $100 a month for K1–K2, $130 for Lower Primary (P1–P3), $150 for Upper Primary (P4–P5), $210 for P6 Maths, $250 for Lower Secondary (S1–S2) and $350 for Upper Secondary (S3–S4). At P6 and at all Secondary levels, Mathematics is the only subject offered. Lessons are 1 hour for K1–K2, 1.5 hours for Lower and Upper Primary and Lower Secondary, and 2 hours for P6 and Upper Secondary. Assessment books and weekly worksheets are included at no extra cost.

Is there a registration or deposit fee?

No. There is no registration fee, no deposit and no material fee. You pay only for the lessons your child attends that month.

How are monthly tuition fees calculated?

Fees are a flat monthly amount covering four lessons, billed by PayNow at the start of each month. When a month happens to contain a fifth lesson, it is not charged for. You are never charged for a month with no classes.

You shouldn't have to message a stranger to find out what something costs. Here is exactly what I charge, what's included, and what isn't. If it's outside your budget, no hard feelings — I'd rather you knew now.

Fees are a flat monthly amount per subject, covering four lessons. When a month happens to have a fifth lesson, it isn't charged for. P6 and Upper Secondary run as two-hour lessons, because the syllabus and the papers are too long to do properly in ninety minutes. Payment by PayNow at the start of each month.

Please note: at P6 and at every Secondary level I teach Mathematics only — English, Chinese and Science run up to P5. At Sec 3 and 4, E-Maths and A-Maths are separate O-Level subjects and are charged separately, so a student taking both pays for two classes.

Nothing is fixed yet, and that's genuinely good news for the first few families: you get first pick of timing and I build the group around it rather than the other way round. Here is when I teach.

Lesson length is set by level — 1 hour for K1–K2, 1.5 hours for P1–P5 and Sec 1–2, and 2 hours for P6 and Sec 3–4. Each group is placed inside the windows above to fit its length, so a two-hour P6 class simply takes a longer stretch of the Saturday or Sunday.

How a group comes together

Tell me three things — your child's level, the subject, and the times that genuinely work for your family. Not the times you think I want to hear.
I'll be straight with you about whether anyone else is asking about that level, and I'll hold your preferred window while we arrange the free trial.
Groups run with two or three children at the same level and similar ability. I won't mix a P3 into a P5 class to fill a seat.
Bring a friend and you fill the group yourselves. Two children at the same level means you keep the exact slot you asked for, with no waiting for another family to come along.

Once a group is full at three, that slot closes and this page will say so. If the window you want isn't listed, ask anyway — while I'm still building the timetable I can usually make something work.

Questions about fees

Do I pay for lessons my child misses?

The monthly fee holds your child's seat for the month, so it isn't reduced for a missed lesson. But if you tell me at least 24 hours ahead, I'll send the worksheets and my notes for that lesson, and where I can I'll offer a make-up in another group at the same level.

Is the trial lesson really free?

Yes. Your child joins a real class at their level, for the full lesson. There's no charge and no obligation to continue. I'll message you afterwards with what I noticed — including if I think a different level or a different tutor would suit them better.

Why is this more than some other home tutors charge?

Two reasons. Groups are capped at three rather than six or eight, so there are fewer families sharing the cost of the same lesson. And assessment books, worksheets, marking and feedback are included rather than billed on top, which is often where the advertised rate and the real cost diverge.

Can my child take two subjects?

Yes, and many do. Each subject is a separate class with its own slot and its own fee — there's no bundle discount, but I'll do my best to schedule them back to back so you only make one trip.

How do I pay?

PayNow, at the start of each month. The amount is the same every month, and I'll send you the dates it covers so there's nothing to work out.
